Introduction to Croatian Mouflon Hunting Companies

If you are interested in purchasing Croatian mouflon hunting companies with existing long-term hunting lease contracts in Dalmatia, this is the right page for you.

Available Mouflon Hunting Estates in Dalmatia

Currently, we can offer several mouflon hunting estates in the Dalmatian region of Croatia, ranging from a minimum of 330 hectares to a maximum of 14,000 hectares of hunting area. These estates are primarily populated with mouflon, fallow deer, kiri - kiri, chamois, and wild Croatian sheep, but also feature fallow deer, roe deer, red-legged partridge, pheasants, woodcock, and quail as the main game species. Most of these islands consist of rocky terrain with bush vegetation.

Hunting Lease Contracts in Croatia

In Croatia, the long-established method of obtaining hunting rights over a particular area is through a hunting lease contract, which can be easily extended every 10 years, provided the areas are managed according to the designated hunting management plan.

Cost of Acquiring Hunting Companies

Most existing owners of hunting companies in Croatia hold leases for less than 10 years of hunting rights on forestry land. These owners may ask for anything from 620,000 EUR to 2,760,000 EUR to take over their hunting company, which may include property such as hunting lodges, hotels, or just freehold forestry and arable land. The valuation of a hunting estate depends on the value of assets, mainly property, as well as the size and intensity of investment in trophy animal stock within the hunting area. Hunting leases are automatically extended to the present user every 10 years, and the originally agreed annual fees to the Croatian government remain unchanged until the end of the lease contract.

Profitability and Management of Hunting Estates

Hunting estates in Dalmatia pride themselves on proven mouflon sheep trophy results, which contribute significantly to the annual profits in these mouflon hunting areas. The owner of hunting rights on a particular estate enjoys the same freedom as on private land, as long as they operate in accordance with Croatian hunting laws and employ a registered and licensed gamekeeper to manage the hunting estate year-round. Investing in the Croatian hunting industry is straightforward and trouble-free because the forestry commission is responsible for maintaining forests and roads in good condition, while the owner of the hunting company controls hunting activities over specific areas. This arrangement saves money on road maintenance, allowing owners to focus solely on game management.

Lease Extensions and New Opportunities

In 95% of cases, you will be purchasing a company with first-choice rights to remain in particular areas for a period of up to max 30 years under a new automatically extendable 10-year lease contract. In Croatia, when a lease agreement signed in 1995 expires (mostly in 2025), it offers new opportunities to leaseholders. The new leases that would be signed very soon in 2025 will be automatically extended after 10 years under the original conditions by the government. This is established common practice in Croatia, but leaseholders must provide good care of wildlife and animals on government land. If hunting areas are abused, overhunted, poorly managed, or not in line with the annual management plan, lease rights can be revoked without compensation by the government to the owner of the hunting company.

Negotiations and Confidentiality

Every few months, we come across new deals on arable farmland, private forest land, and hunting land, which are subject to negotiation with the current owner. This is not an easy process, and for all these transactions, our initial fees are £10,000, plus 4% of the total purchase amount of the Croatian Mouflon hunting company. In the past, many attractive offers appeared when we did not have the right client ready to commit to such an investment at the time. However, there are not many mouflon hunting estates available right now for sale while we have few genuine offers every month that we have to turn down. It is advisable to stay in touch with us until we can update you when something of interest appears on the market through our network of established hunting contacts. Due to client confidentiality, we do not advertise these large hunting estates and especially private castles for sale on our website.

Opportunities for Private Land Purchase

Within large tracts of government-owned forestry land, there are always a few acres of private land that can be purchased for building private villas. On this land, it is possible to construct a new hunting lodge in some of the most breathtaking scenery in Croatia. We organise trophy Mediterranean-type mouflon stalking on the Dalmatian coast as well as across a range of Dalmatian islands, where we currently have a few mouflon hunting estates available for sale.
